Lord Colin Moynihan, ChairmanColin Moynighan 
Colin Moynihan is Chairman of Pelamis Wave Power Ltd, and a Director of Rowan Drilling.  From July 2000 until October 2003 he was Executive Chairman and Chief Executive of Consort Resources Limited and from 2003 until 2007 he was Executive Chairman of Clipper Windpower Europe Limited.  

Colin Moynihan was a Member of Parliament in the United Kingdom for ten years serving as Minister for Energy from 1990 to 1992.  Prior thereto, he concurrently held the positions of Minister for Sport and Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department of the Environment from 1987 to 1990.  He was the first Patron of the British Wind Energy Association and a member of the Royal Institute of International Affairs: Energy and Environment Programme Steering Committee.  He is Chairman of the British Olympic Association, a member of the Olympic Board and a Director of the London Olympic Organising Committee.  He was also a Rowing Silver Medallist in the 1980 Olympic Games.

He was educated at Monmouth School and University College, Oxford (B.A. Politics, Philosophy, Economics 1977, M.A. 1982).  He was also awarded a Fiddian Post-Graduate Research Scholarship in Politics at Brasenose College, Oxford, 1977.

Phil Metcalf, Chief Executive Officer
Phil Phil joined Pelamis Wave Power as CEO from Global Crossing, the international global telecoms group, where he was Managing Director for the UK business and an Officer of the parent company and previously CEO of marine subsidiary, Global Marine. Earlier roles included Operations Director at engineering and construction firm, Stone and Webster, and various project manager roles in the offshore oil & gas industry.

Richard Yemm, Chief Technical Officer
Richard yemm From a background in the wind energy sector, Richard founded Pelamis Wave Power in 1998.  He is now the company’s Chief Technical Officer, responsible for all aspects of the technology R&D and product development programmes.  Richard is also a Board Director of the Scottish Renewables Forum, Scotland’s renewables industry trade association.  

Richard graduated with a first class BSc Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering from Edinburgh University in 1989, and was awarded a PhD in 1993.

Diana Dyer Bartlett, Chief Financial Officer
d.bartlett Diana joined Pelamis Wave Power as CFO in August 2007 from FTSE mid 250 stockbroker, Collins Stewart plc, where she was Finance Director and Company Secretary and recently played a key role in both the company’s successful demerger from Tullett Prebon and its purchase of corporate advisory business, Hawkpoint. Prior to that, Diana was Finance Director at Midlands Mining.  She qualified as a chartered accountant with Deloitte Haskins & Sells and spent several years in corporate finance at Hill Samuel Bank.

Max Carcas, Business Development Director
max Max is responsible for PWP’s commercial development and sales and marketing of the Pelamis WEC.  He has many years experience in international sales and marketing with a focus on bringing new innovative products to market and creating new markets for existing products. Prior to PWP he established and grew the European subsidiary of BW Technologies Ltd, a TSE listed manufacturer of innovative gas monitoring systems including equipment to reduce CO2 domestic boiler emissions.  He was also Managing Director of Engineering for Science and Industry Ltd, a systems integrator for the oil and gas industry.  Max originally graduated from Edinburgh University with an honours degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering.  Following this he spent seven years as Sales and Marketing Manager for City Technology plc (now part of Honeywell) which became the world’s leading manufacturer of miniature fuel-cell gas sensors used in safety, medical and environmental applications. He is currently a member of the REA’s Ocean Energy Group, the BWEA’s Marine Steering Group and a Director of OREC in the USA.
 
Gina Domanig, Board Director
Gina is the Managing Partner of Emerald Technology Ventures, formerly SAM Private Equity which was spun out of SAM Sustainable Asset Management in 2007.  Upon joining SAM in 2000, she founded the private equity business and established SAM Private Equity as the largest European cleantech venture capital fund and the only such fund with a transatlantic strategy. Gina serves on the board of Identec Solutions, Inge and Ormecon. Gina has over 20 years of international business experience including banking, M&A, strategic development, and venture capital. Prior to that, she was senior vice president at Sulzer, a Swiss multinational, responsible for strategic planning and M&A. During her ten year tenure, she built up a team which completed 45 transactions including acquisitions, divestitures, IPOs and JVs. Gina holds MBA degrees from Thunderbird in Arizona and ESADE in Barcelona and is fluent in English, German and Spanish.

Marco Fabbri, Board Director
marco Fabbri After a one year spell as a lecturer in Electrical Technologies at Bologna University, Dr. Marco Fabbri started his industrial career in 1970 as a Design engineer and then project manager with Standard Telephones & Cables in London. He joined Ferranti Subsea Systems Limited in 1978 as Programme Manager working on Offshore and subsea projects.  In 1988 he led a Management Buy-Out from Ferranti, forming FSSL LTD, of which he was the CEO and  Chairman.  In 1993 he sold the company to Kvaerner, having substantially increased profits and market share.  He then formed Kvaerner Oilfield Products (KOP) of which he became Chairman and CEO. He developed the company to 500m $sales with considerable profits. Since he retired from full time employment in 2000, he has worked with 3i plc, SND Invest (Norway), Carbon Trust, Imperial College, Ernst and Young, Simmons & Simmons and Shell.  He is currently Director of Vector International, Norway and advisor to several companies.  

Marco graduated from Bologna University with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1969, followed by a post-graduate course in analytical chemistry.  He has Degrees in Humanities (Honours), with History and a Master in Art History (Distinction). He Received the UK Underwater Technology Award in 1977 for his outstanding contribution to the pioneering and development of subsea technologies. He is C Eng. and a M IET since 1973.

Dr David Lindley, Board Director
david Linley Dr David Lindley was founder and managing director of National Wind Power Ltd and of Wind Energy Group Ltd.  He has also held several directorships and other senior posts in the Taylor Woodrow Group, and senior engineering positions in the UK Central Electricity Generating Board, the Energy Technology Support Unit of the Atomic Energy Authority, Mather & Platt plc, the University of Canterbury in New Zealand and at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory at the California Institute of Technology in the USA.  He is also currently a non-executive director of KP Renewables plc.  

David graduated with a BSc first class honours degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Salford in 1962 and was awarded a PhD from the University of Wales in 1966 and a Certificate in Advanced Engineering Design from the University of Cambridge in 1967.  He was appointed an OBE in 1998 for his services to renewable energy.

Derrik Robb, Operations Directordrobb
Derrik joined Pelamis Wave Power in January 2008 and is responsible for the execution and delivery of Pelamis projects and operations.  He draws on a broad range of experience in project execution and engineering in the energy sector worldwide including power projects in the Middle East and petrochemical plants and associated utilities in the USA and Indonesia.

Derrik started his career in an offshore corrosion engineering role and then progressed through project and functional department management roles at Stone and Webster (the engineering procurement and construction constractor) delivering projects to global operators.  Derrik more recently applied his project management skills, gained in a contracting environment, to the successful roll out of networks in the telecommunications industry as well as the management of operational facilities.
 
Cath Waugh, Office/HR Manager
Cath Waugh Cath joined Pelamis Wave Power in July 2006 and is responsible for Office Management and Human Resources.  With 20 years experience working with major players within the Telecommunication industry, she previously worked with Seven Layer Communications as Operations Manager, Ascend Communications (latterly Lucent Technologies) as Manager of General Affairs, where she was responsible for opening their first R & D Centre in Europe. Previous to this Cath was responsible for European Human Resources with The Shiva Corporation and Human Resources for Spider Systems Limited.


Eddie Scott, QHSE Manager
E Scott Eddie manages the Quality, Environment, Health and Safety programmes for PWP. From early days in the shipbuilding industry he has worked in a variety of project and marine engineering roles on offshore construction projects, jacket structure installations and heavy lift vessels. Moving to the Semiconductor manufacturing industry, he spent his last 14 years dedicated to Quality, Environment, Health and Safety management, attaining the position of Global QEHS manager with Metron Technology and UK EHS manager with Wood Group Gas Turbine Services, Raytheon Systems and Hyundai Semiconductor. He holds a Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety management and has patented safety equipment for technical diving.
